Mood: waiting for wind
20th October 2008
Windsurfing: Camber - Little Maui
Wind Direction: SW
Wind Stength: 27knots +
Surf / Sea State: bumpy
Air Temperature: ok
Sea Temperature: ok
Weather: sunny & windy
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Got to Camber earlyish, Ray & Scott already rigged 4.0m & 4.4m with 80ish litre wave boards. Did the walk over to check conditions anyway, and get accurate wind reading. Solid 25 knots, gusting 30, and increasing gradually too.
Harry & Bryn came over the dunes with their boards to check the conditions, closely followed by Ray & Scott. We waited to see how the guinea pigs did, and once they'd eventually made it to the water, they both planed straight off the beach no problems.
As suspected it was going to be 4.3m Diva weather for me, and board choice was limited to the freewave 95.
I'd rigged up, and was ready to get suited as the rest of the riff raff rocked up. There were around 20 of us out while I was on the water, and still one or two turning up as I packed up, my session cut a little shorter than planned through some 'kit damage'. The freewave 95 was pretty bouncy out there, as sections were very corrugated. There were some pretty big lumps of water moving about out there today !! Anyway ..... I'll hopefully fix the wife's sail before she notices, and the nose of the board needs some tlc too :-(
